Merry Christmas 2020 From Kwanjangnim

2021-03-03T19:13:38-07:00Categories: Kwanjangnim's Korner, Omega News, Springville|

My Dear Omega Family! What a year this has been… Sheesh! As I sit and reflect on all the things that have transpired and all the things that all of us have had to pivot and get used to, it is monumental. 2020 – The year our whole world got turned upside down due to the global pandemic called COVID-19. I am amazed at all the “new normal” practices and phrases that we all have had to get used to – things like 6-foot social distancing, 14-day quarantining, make sure to wear your mask, did you get that Zoom link [...]

Utah State Mask Mandate Info and Omega

2020-11-09T13:05:38-07:00Categories: Omega News, Springville|

Dear Omega: Many of you listened to Gov. Herbert last night about Utah being in a state of emergency regarding COVID-19 and what we can do as a state to help lower the spike. As always, I do my research and call the Utah County Health Department for exact guidance on how Omega can proceed forward. The directive for Omega was the same as the last time. Here is a recap of how we will proceed with classes over the next few weeks: 1. We are NOT a casual, social gathering. We are a business and we are being viewed [...]

New Utah State Transmission Index

2020-10-15T15:51:11-06:00Categories: Omega News, Springville|

Dear Omega Family: As many of you heard on Tuesday of this week, Utah came out with a different way of tracking and categorizing the COVID-19 cases and exposures -- now called a "Transmission Index". This new index is to help people with their social gatherings. In the state's press conference, they said that businesses, schools, churches, etc are following guidelines to stay safe and open and not where they are seeing the virus spread; rather it is in social gatherings. Utah County is considered a "High Transmission" county, currently, and was given new social guidelines to follow. I called [...]

Plan for the Utah County Mask Mandate

2020-09-25T09:31:13-06:00Categories: Omega News, Springville|

Dear Omega Family: Yesterday the Utah County Health Department issued a mask mandate for all of Utah County. As I read the mandate there is a mask exemption that says "that if you are participating in a physical and/or strenuous activity, then you do not need to wear a mask while participating in this activity." (See Utah County Public Health Order Section 3.9) Today, I personally called the Utah County Health Department and received verbal confirmation from the Director Tyler Plewe that Omega Martial Arts will fall under the physical exemption rule. This verbal confirmation of exemption was received on [...]

Low-Risk Phase Class Transition

2020-06-28T15:32:10-06:00Categories: Omega News, Springville|

It has been a few weeks since Governor Herbert modified the state to "Yellow" or Low-Risk Phase. During the Moderate-Risk Phase, we have been practicing in-studio with ultra-low class sizes and class times. Because our students and instructors have continued to use safe and responsible distancing and sanitizing, we are modifying classes again slightly beginning June 1.  The new schedule looks similar to what you are used to at Omega, but the classes will remain between 10-30 people (including all instructors), with most classes at 15 or fewer. The new Springville summer schedule is posted HERE. If you or someone [...]
